Tap into a bright future in the plumbing industry.

Program Overview

Get an edge on the competition

With so many people seeking plumbing apprenticeships in Ontario, two years of education can push you to the front of the line. In the second year of Sheridan’s Plumbing Technician program, you’ll learn advanced concepts that can save you hundreds of classroom hours during an apprenticeship. You’ll also put your new skills and knowledge to work in a field placement.

Earn your Gas Technician 3 license

Sheridan is one of the few Ontario colleges that provides gas technician training approved by the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA). You’ll learn in our fully accredited TSSA Gas Lab and when you graduate you will:

  • have completed the TSSA Gas Technician 3 curriculum and may be eligible to write an exam for certification through the TSSA.
  • be qualified to hook up furnaces, water heaters and other gas-fired appliances.

Study under great professors from other departments

In addition to your plumbing courses, you’ll also learn from experts in subjects such as welding or rigging and lifting. Sheridan’s welding professors are among the best in Ontario, and our millwright students often win medals at provincial and national competitions.

Explore your future lab

In the Plumbing Technician program, you'll work and study in classrooms designed to mimic workplaces in the real world. Want to see what it looks like? Take a virtual tour of the Framing and Plumbing Lab you'll use as a student in this program.
